Announcing a Few (Minor) Changes
Tweaks to make sure we all enjoy our BoRT writing/reading experience!
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been thinking about Bulletin of Remarkable Trees and how the research/writing/posting schedule is functioning for me.
What I’ve noticed is that trying to get a relatively thorough and detailed issue on a specific topic out every week often doesn’t give me enough time to comb through the mountains of primary source material the way I’d like to. I think more time and some flexibility in posting would give me the much-needed latitude to take a deeper dive into topics that have a lot going on!

To that end, I’m going to try tweaking my posting schedule a bit. Paid subscribers will still get an Arboretum Through the Seasons post at the beginning of each month and will also receive new series (including one that is in the works right now!!) when they debut.
Free subscribers will still have access to BoRT issues as they are posted, but the timing will be changing to about two(ish) issues a month instead of one every week. Depending on the topic I’m working on, that timeframe may be longer (or shorter) based on how long I need to dig into everything I want to. Additionally, so that I can continue having more frequent regular posts, I’m going to start putting out shorter updates once (maybe more) a week. Things like highlighting an excellent book I’m working my way through for research or posting snippets of something that’s interesting, but that isn’t necessarily enough to carry a whole issue. Or more posts of interesting (seemingly endless) slides as I work my way through various categories of them.
I hope these changes will allow me to put out writing I’m thrilled with while providing better consistency and frequency for my readers. Thank you for bearing with me while I figure out the absolute best way(s) to get fascinating history, research, and interviews into your inbox at semi-regular intervals.
